Classic vs Blind vs Chaos
Every Build a Hooper run follows the same 13-round draft. The mode changes what you know before a pick and how much control you have over the skill board.
Classic: read the whole board
Classic shows every player's overall rating and every skill value before you choose. It is the clearest way to learn the draft board, compare legends, and build toward a specific player type without guessing.
Pick Classic for your first few runs, for a carefully planned build, or when you want to see whether the highest number is actually worth the pick.
Blind: trust your basketball memory
Blind hides player OVR and skill numbers while you draft. You still see the player and position, but the decision comes down to what you remember about that player and the role your build still needs.
Pick Blind once you know the board well enough to make a call without the numbers. It turns a clean comparison into a basketball read: do you trust the reputation, the fit, or the skill you need most?
Chaos: work with what is open
Chaos keeps part of the skill board locked. Each round opens at most four unused skills from the full board, so the clean answer may not be available when a legendary player appears.
Pick Chaos when you want the draft to force tradeoffs. Instead of waiting for the perfect three-point shot, stop, or finishing trait, you have to decide whether an available skill improves the build now or creates a new weakness later.
Which mode should you choose?
- Start with Classic if you are learning the game or chasing a deliberate build.
- Choose Blind if you want the player names and roles to matter more than ratings.
- Choose Chaos if you enjoy adapting a build when the skill board refuses to cooperate.
The season sim stays the same in every mode. The difference is the path to the finished player: full information, incomplete information, or a limited set of options.
