Halloween has a strange hold on the NBA. On October 31, 2015, Stephen Curry scored 53 points against the Pelicans — 28 in a single quarter — a record nobody has touched on Halloween since. Three years later, Derrick Rose dropped a career-high 50 in a Timberwolves win over the Jazz, crying at the buzzer on the spookiest night of the year. Something about the calendar brings out the haunted and the historic.
Off the court, October 31 is when NBA locker rooms turn into costume contests. Russell Westbrook once dressed as his own teammate Steven Adams — mullet wig and all.
