How to play NBA Lineup Quiz

NBA Lineup Quiz gives you a team, a season, and five empty spots. Fill in the starters before your guesses run out.

What you are solving

The puzzle is about the real starting five from a historic NBA team season. Name the PG, SG, SF, PF, and C. You have 5 guesses for each spot, and the daily puzzle follows Eastern Time.

Points

  • Guess 1: 200 points
  • Guess 2: 150 points
  • Guess 3: 100 points
  • Guess 4: 50 points
  • Guess 5: 25 points
  • No solve after 5 tries: 0 points

Max score: 1000. That means all five starters were solved on the first guess.

Starter in the wrong slot

If a guessed player belongs in the lineup but not in that slot, you still keep him. The game moves him to the correct position, locks that card, and subtracts 25 points. You will see MOVED -25 on the card.

Clues

Every card starts with only the position. Wrong guesses reveal more of the player, but the last name never fully opens. You still have to finish that part yourself.

  • Before any miss: only the position is shown.
  • After 1 miss: jersey number, age, and height appear.
  • After 2 misses: you see first-name length and the first letter of the last name, like _ _ _ _ _ / I _ _ _ _ _.
  • After 3 misses: the first letter of the first name appears, like K _ _ _ _ / I _ _ _ _ _.
  • After 4 misses: the full first name appears, but the last name still looks like I _ _ _ _ _.

The forgotten starter

The hard card is usually not the superstar. It is the starter people forget: a role guard, a defensive forward, or a big who played next to the name everyone remembers. Use the bio clues before you throw away the last attempts.

Daily streaks
